Cone Beam Computed Tomography - CAD/CAM Technology
Cone beam computed tomography is ideal for capturing images in the maxillofacial region. It allows Dr. O'Donnell and Dr. Willis to have a 3D image of a patients teeth, soft tissues, nerve pathways and bone in a single scan that only takes about 20 seconds and allows for immediate availability of images on screen. It is an extremely valuable piece of equipment that allows for improved diagnostic and treatment planning particularly with dental implants and oral surgery.
An advanced dental restorative system that allows Dr. O'Donnell and Dr. Willis to restore decayed teeth, place crowns, or place cosmetic veneers in just ONE appointment. It provides patients with the highest qualtiy, most natural dental restorations quickly so they are in, out and on with their busy life. The CEREC system not only contains components to manufacture the ceramic restorations on the spot, but also incorporates a 3D camera and computer suite to make sure the pieces it crafts are the precise dimensions needed. Because of the one visit turnaround time at Mobile Comprehensive Dentistry, we eliminate the need for temporary crowns, bridges and other replacement pieces. This speeds up recovery and improves our patients quality of life. For more information on CEREC, watch this quick interview with Dr. O'Donnell and Dr. Willis.
At Mobile Comprehensive Dentistry, we take digital impressions. Digital impressions represent cutting-edge technology that allows Dr. O'Donnell and Dr. Willis to create a virtual, computer generated replica of the hard and soft tissue of the mouth using optical scanning devices. This technology captures clear and highly accurate impression data in mere minutes. No need for traditional gooey impression material and no more gag reflex! Patient comfort always come first!
We are the only office in the Mobile area to be using this technology. It is changing the way we think about the manufacture of various different items. But what does it mean for our patients? If you are missing teeth you could benefit from 3D printing in implant dentistry. At Mobile Comprehensive Dentistry, by using our innovative technology in CBCT, powerful planning software, and an in-office 3D printer, Dr. O'Donnell can create ultra precise guides for more efficient, predictable, and ultimately successful dental implants. If you are longing for a straighter smile, you will benefit from 3D printing in aligner therapy. All models and aligners for each stage of treatment are printed in office.
Fiber Optic Handpieces
At Mobile Comprehensive Dentistry, we utilize fiber optic handpieces because there is no better light source than the light AT the source. Wherever the docs drill is pointed, there is light. Better illumination gives us better visibility and security that we have done our procedure with unsurpassed quality.
Rotary endodontics is an advanced method of performing root canals. This technology helps make the root canal experience both comfortable and efficient for the patient. Rotary endodontics involves an electrically powered instrument which makes the procedure faster because of the flexibility and unique movement of the instrument. It can be inserted deeply into a curved root canal without stretching or damaging the passageway. With the experienced team at Mobile Comprehensive Dentistry, the fear of the root canal is no more!
Lasers are used for soft tissue, which means minimal to no bleeding, swelling, or postoperative pain with soft tissue procedures. At Mobile Comprehensive Dentistry, we use lasers to help shape gum tissue for cosmetic and dental implant surgeries. The laser is extremely precise which encourages rapid healing and comfortable treatment.
Patients seldom have a clear idea of the actual status of their oral health. Even with lights and mirrors, a patient isn't able to see what the dentist sees. This is why we use intraoral cameras. These are special digital cameras that take images of the inside of your mouth and enables Dr. O'Donnell and Dr. Willis to show you an enlarged, detailed image on screen. They can point out problem areas and easily explain recommendations for treatment so you'll become an informed partner in your dental care.
We've invested in a procedure that's fast, comfortable and incredibly precise with the implementation of digital X-rays at Mobile Comprehensive Dentistry. It allows us to clearly identify all external and internal anatomical structures and accurately diagnose dental problems. When you come in for your visit, a small sensor will be placed in your mouth to detect small amounts of radiation - up to 90% less radiation than with traditional film X-rays. This creates a detailed image that is immediately viewable chairside. Drs. O'Donnell and Willis can rotate and magnify it, adjust it for contrast, even color code it for educational purposes. Digital X-rays offer unparalleled benefits over traditional radiographs; they are safe for the environment, provide a great opportunity for patient education, and best of all, they are safer for our patients.
ZOOM! Whitening is a scientifically advanced in office tooth whitening procedure that is safe, effective and fast. It's ideal for anyone who wants to see immediate results because teeth become dramatically whiter; up to 10 shades, in less than an hour!
